A disturbing incident from Bihar’s Jamui district has sparked nationwide outrage after a video surfaced showing a group of men harassing two minors—a boy and a girl—returning from their coaching classes.
The two Class 10 students had gone to Madwa Pahad, a popular hill destination in Jamui city, and were on their way back home when the group stopped their scooter. What followed was nearly 20 minutes of public humiliation, assault, and molestation—all filmed by the perpetrators themselves.

The Girl’s Pleas: With folded hands, the minor girl repeatedly begs the group to let them go. “Please let us go, we will never come back here again,” she is heard saying.
Physical Assault: One man grabs the boy by his shirt collar and slaps him. Another pulls the girl by her hand as she sits on the scooter.
Molestation: At one point, a man picks up the girl from underneath, lifting her off the ground. During the scuffle, another man pushes her breast with his hand. The video clearly shows inappropriate touching and physical harassment.

The Jamui police took suo motu cognizance of the matter after the video went viral.

Congress spokesperson Shama Mohamed called it an instance of “jungleraaj,” demanding strict punishment for the accused.
BJP spokesperson Kuntal Krishna condemned the incident, stating: “Anyone who plays with the dignity of daughters will not be spared. Police will set an example so that no one dares to do this again.”
State Women’s Commission Chairperson Apsara has taken cognizance and directed the Jamui DM to take strict action.
